Polimex-Mostostal supports and puts the idea of corporate social responsibility into practice. The company operates in order to balance between economics, ethics and respect for the environment.
Principles of corporate order
Polimex-Mostostal observes standards binding public companies and closely abides by the applicable legislation.
The Management Board and the Supervisory Board of Polimex-Mostostal act pursuant to the applicable provisions of the law, in particular the provisions of the Code of Commercial Companies, Articles of Association, the company’s own Rules of Procedure, and pursuant to the adopted principles of ‘Good Practice in Public Companies’. Within the structure of the Supervisory Board there are the Audit Committee and the Remuneration Committee, which are advisory and opinion-making bodies, acting collectively within the structure of the Supervisory Board.
Polimex-Mostostal applies an audit system based on the adopted principles and internal regulations. It consists of two elements: functional audit carried out by each employee as part of their responsibilities provided for in the procedures adopted, and institutional audit carried out by internal audit units.
Polimex-Mostostal improves the risk management methods, analyses external and internal factors which may affect realization of the objectives planned. The procedures applicable within the Company are systematically modified and improved.
The Company uses comprehensive operating and financial risk insurance contracted with renowned insurance companies.
Polimex-Mostostal regularly meets tax obligations and other lawful obligations.
Code of Ethics
Pursuing the good of the Company, business partners and employees, Polimex-Mostostal voluntarily implemented a Code of Ethics. It describes the values which Polimex-Mostostal finds particularly important. The Code is a collection of principles pursued by the Company in its business activity, and it describes the ethical standards which the Company finds relevant in the relations with customers, employees and the social and economic environment. Implementing the Code of Ethics, Polimex-Mostostal acknowledged that in developing its activity it strives to achieve a balance between economy, ethics and respect for natural environment.
In its business activity, Polimex-Mostostal pursues high ethical standards, establishing partner relations with customers, employees and the social and economic environment.
In relations with other entities, customers and in any interpersonal relations, the Company and its employees are in particular obliged to act in accordance with the following values:

In its activity, the Company allows for the interest and good of local communities and, as far as possible, supports local initiatives the aims of which include education, sports or charitable activity.

The Company undertakes efforts to actively participate in the public debate with respect to market regulations and legislation pertaining to the areas of the Company’s activity, the primary objective of which is to promote the principles of fair competition and to improve economic processes.
Environmental protection
Polimex-Mostostal applies an Environmental Management System consistent with the PN EN ISO 14001 standard. Primary system activities and responsibilities arising from the provisions of law include environmental monitoring involving control of pollution emissions to the atmosphere, waste registration, control of refuse disposal and recycling, and control of the sewage disposal.
Polimex-Mostostal is fully aware of the necessity to protect air, water and soil, the obligation to reduce waste, search for environmentally safe ways to generate power, the necessity for low- and non-waste technologies, efficient use of resources and rational use of chemicals.
Polimex-Mostostal carries out daily tasks taking into account the necessity to exert a positive impact on the environment, what is achieved, among others, thanks to:
1. abiding by the standards of environmental protection legislation,
2. controlling gas emissions, waste and wastewater generated during production in our plants,
3. taking the challenges of ecology at the design stage of our expansion and modernization of production potential into account,
4. investing only in technologies meeting high standards on environmental protection,
5. optimizing the consumption of electricity, water, office supplies, etc..,
6. developing as a general contractor in support of environmentally-friendly sectors such as:
- in relation to the energy sector: technologies and air protection devices, renewable energy, biofuels, wind farms,
- in the environmental sector: construction of sewage treatment, drying and waste incineration plants equipped with biogas installations,
7. employees’ involvement in green activities and efforts to successively reduce the negative impact of the Company on the natural and work environment,
8. supporting thematic conferences and congresses.
Polimex-Mostostal take into account the fact that the "organic nature" of production or services will increasingly affect investors' decisions regarding the selection of contractors and suppliers. Submitting a tender for the implementation of an investment project, those companies will have a greater chance for winning a tender that apply the environmental standards or offer a modern, ecological solution.
Therefore, ecological issues are and must be the future focus for Polimex-Mostostal in order to strengthen its position as an industry leader and its services and products will not only meet the highest standards of quality, but their manufacturing process must not harm the environment.
