PROGRAM BLOKI 200+
Research and scientific project „PROGRAM BLOKI 200+”
The Committee of The National Centre for Research and Development (Narodowe Centrum Badań i Rozwoju – NCBiR) positively evaluated the Method of improving the flexibility of 200MWe units, developed by the Consortium of Contractors, which included Polimex Mostostal S.A. – Consortium Leader, Polimex Energetyka sp. z o.o., Politechnika Warszawska (Warsaw University of Technology), Energoprojekt - Warszawa S.A., Transition Technologies S.A., Transition Technologies – Advanced Solutions sp. z o.o., Transition Technologies-Control Solutions sp. z o.o. .
Developed Method makes it possible to adapt generation units of the 200 MWe, constituting almost 25% of the installed capacity in the National Electroenergetic System, for a safe transformation of Polish Energy policy. Furthermore our Method opens new possibilities for similar units everywhere, contributing to energy security of European Union.
Programme was based on Agreement concluded between NCBiR and the Consortium for the implementation and financing of the project in the "BLOKI 200+" programme of 7 June 2018, the subject of which was to carry out R&D works aimed at developing an reference, test, innovative, low-input technology for the modernization of steam, subcritical, class 200MWe power units, fired with hard coal or lignite, aimed at changing the basic parameters of operation and maintenance and adapting them to new requirements and a specific work regime with greater load variability and with a large number of withdrawals and starts.
In connection with the energy transformation, which assumes increasing the share of RES and limiting the share of conventional energy sources in electricity production, making the operation of units more flexible, i.e. lowering the technical minimum, shortening the start-up time from various thermal states of units will eliminate the risk of interruptions in the supply of electricity.
Implementation of the Method was carried out on the reference unit No. 4 with a capacity of 241MWe, at Enea Elektrownia Połaniec S.A., Zawada 26, 28-230 Połaniec, and then tested to confirm the assumed parameters. The Method developed and implemented by the Consortium consists of available elements of technology and allows to achieve the assumed goals of the Program Bloki 200+.
