Polimex-Mostostal concluded a contract worth over PLN 192 mln for the construction of a stadium in Zabrze

Today, on 24 August 2001 Polimex-Mostostal S.A. concluded with the Stadium in Zabrze Sp. z o.o. a contract for modernisation of the Ernst Pohl stadium in Zabrze Stage I.

Contract net value: PLN 156,503,945.56

Contract gross value: PLN 192,499,853.04

Polimex-Mostostal SA is the general contractor of the investment.

Works completion date: April 2013.

The scope of the contract for modernisation of the Ernst Pohl stadium in Zabrze Stage I covers a/o:

1. dismantling of existing installations, ground tribune and technical

buildings in particular,

1. construction of new tribunes: northern, eastern and southern as well as

roofed corners,

1. construction of an underground garage located under the main entrance square,
2. land development along with Olimpijska Street reconversion.

Some information on the facility:

- number of spectator seating: 24 699 (31 319 seatings targeted (stage I + II)),

- number of garage places in the underground garage: 1188,

- quantity of concrete of different types used for construction: about 50 000 m3,

- weight of reinforced steel: about 7 000 tons

- weight of constructional steel of the roofing: about 1 700 tons

The top level of the stadium will be made in monolithic reinforced concrete construction, the tribune steps – prefabricated, the roofing in steel construction. Roof covering of trapezoidal sheet and polycarbonate. Building body elevation made of aluminum tubes.
