The bid for an amount of over PLN 214 million, submitted by the consortium of Torpol SA, in a tender for the design, construction and implementation of the radio subsystem of ERTMS/GSM-R, has been selected as the most advantageous

On 22 February the Board of Polimex-Mostostal SA was informed that the tender submitted by a consortium of Torpol SA (a 100% subsidiary of Polimex-Mostostal) for the design, construction and implementation of the radio subsystem of ERTMS/GSM-R, the design and construction of route fiber optic cables and the construction of transmission systems implemented under the project OPI&E 7.1-25 "Construction of infrastructure for GSM-R under the NPW ERTMS railway line 20/CE 20, corridor F, the section Kunowice - Terespol "- partial order A, C, and D has been selected as the most advantageous.

The tender was submitted by a consortium consisting of:

- Kapsch CarrierCom Limited Liability Company (the Leader)

- TORPOL SA

- Kapsch CarrierCom AG

 

The value of the offer is:

gross: 214,347,465.36 PLN

netto: 174,266,232.00 PLN

 

Torpol S.A. participation amounts to 60%.

Under the project, TORPOL SA shall build radio communication facilities, where base stations supplied by the world leader in GSM-R solutions Kapsch Carrier Com will be installed. These facilities shall be combined with fiber-optic network also to be built as part of this task. The project has been implemented in accordance with the so-called National Implementation Plan of the European Train Control System (ERTMS). This system is designed to ensure interoperability of rail transport, the mobility of trains in different countries without having to replace locomotives or drivers. GSM-R system constitutes a component of ERTMS, it is a variation of the popular GSM mobile phone system designed for the railroad. Using this system voice connections can be carried out and data for cab signaling systems as well as automation of driving transmitted. 

The signing of the contract will be subject to meeting the conditions in accordance with the Public Procurement Law.
