Bids exceeding PLN 1 billion,made by consortiums of companies comprising Torpol in tenders regarding reconstruction of the E-65 railway line have been considered the most advantageous

Today, i.e. on 7 October 2010, the Management Board of Polimex-Mostostal obtained information that two bids made by consortiums of companies comprising  Torpol – a 100% subsidiary of Polimex-Mostostal – have been considered the most advantageous.

In both cases, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. with its registered office in Warsaw is the Ordering Party.

The subject matter of the bids is the execution of construction works being part of the ‘Modernisation of the E 65 / C-E 65 railway line along the section Warsaw – Gdynia – LCS Gdansk area, LCS Gdynia’.

The value of the first bid:

- net: PLN 479,129,342.49;

- gross: PLN 584,537,797.84.

Estimated value of the works to be executed by Torpol:

- net: PLN 228 million;

- gross: PLN 278 million.

The bid was made by a Consortium of the following companies:

- TORPOL Sp. z o.o. – Consortium leader,

- FEROCO S.A.,

- Zakład Robót Komunikacyjnych – DOM w Poznaniu Sp. z o.o.,

- Przedsiębiorstwo Usług Technicznych INTERCOR Sp. z o.o.

The value of the second bid:

- net: PLN 371,488,934.67;

- gross: PLN 453,216,500.30.

Estimated value of the works to be executed by Torpol:

- net: PLN 88 million;

- gross: PLN 107 million.

The bid was made by a Consortium of the following companies:

- FEROCO S.A. – Consortium leader,

- TORPOL Sp. z o.o.,

- Zakład Robót Komunikacyjnych – DOM w Poznaniu Sp. z o.o.,

- Przedsiębiorstwo Usług Technicznych INTERCOR Sp. z o.o.

Signature of the contracts will take place following fulfilment of the conditions provided for in the Public Procurement Law.

- Polimex-Mostostal develops its activity in the road and railway building sector. In the coming months, there will be arising further tenders for the construction and modernisation of motorways, expressways and city ring roads as well as larger contracts in the road building segment.
