- For several years now, Polimex-Mostostal has consequently been increasing the number of the executed road and railway contracts in its portfolio. During the period, we commissioned, among others: the Drogowa Trasa Średnicowa (Intercity Road) in Katowice, including Gen. Ziętek Roundabout, and the S1 expressway along the Skoczów ringroad section, and a ringroad in Rybnik. Presently – beside the contract signed today – we are executing, among others, the A4 expressway Wieliczka-Szarów section, a ringroad in Gostynin, and the Trasa Nowohucka (Nowohucka Route) in Cracow. We are also participating in the development of railway infrastructure. A consortium of companies including Torpol – a 100% subsidiary company of Polimex – is executing contracts for the reconstruction of the Wroclaw-Legnica and the Warsaw-Gdynia railway lines. In 2008, the sales in the road and railway sector amounted to nearly 700 million PLN and current year is going to be even better, informs Konrad Jaskóła, President of the Management Board.

- In infrastructural projects, through the absorption of the available EU resources and employing the execution capacities developed in the country, we can see the way to counteract the crisis. Unstable economic situation of Europe and Poland ought also to be used in order to most urgently develop the required, modern infrastructure of our country. We forecast that there will arise new contracts in the road sector regarding expressway and motorway construction (also in the 'design and construct' system). Polimex-Mostostal has been developing its activity as a general contractor in the (road and railway) infrastructural projects sector for several years now, adds Konrad Jaskóła.
